They were attacked by a nightfighter and crashed West of Geilenkirchen. All 7 crew were killed,
Five of the crew were initially buried in Havert Cemetery, but on 14th April 1947 their bodies were exhumed and reburied in Rheinberg War Cemetery. Two of the crew have no graves, Flight Sergeant Clark and Warrant Officer Hurley, they are remembered on panels 216 and 214 at Runnymede.
