CROSS—IRWIN.

On Wednesday, at Meole Brace Church, a pretty wedding took place. The contracting parties were Mr. Ernest Cross (son of Mrs. Williams of Locksley, West Hermitage, Belle Vue, Shrewsbury) and Miss Lucretia Elizabeth Irwin (eldest daughter of Mr. Hebert J. Irwin of Melrose, Lexden Gardens, Shrewsbury). The brother of the bride (Mr. E. P. Irwin) acted as best man, and the bridesmaids were the Misses Agnes and Edith Irwin. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. H. Bather (vicar). The bride looked charming in cream mohair, trimmed with silk braid and tassels; she had a picture hat. Her mother was dressed in violet velvet, trimmed with lace. the brides maids were attired in cream silk lustre, trimmed with mauve velvet and lace, and wore hats of white chip, decked with Parma violets. Gold Irish harp brooches set with pearls were gifts to the bride from the bridegroom. The beautiful bouquets carried by the bride and bridesmaids were also gifts of the bridegroom. On leaving the church the organist (Mr. P. J. H. Loach) played the "Wedding March" from "Lohengrin" (Wagner). Later in the afternoon the bride and bridegroom want to Buxton, Derbyshire, to spend their honeymoon.
