The Air Ministry announced today that the Distinguished Flying Cross has been awarded to Pilot Officer Jack Royston HAMAR (70898) — since deceased.

This officer had participated in all operational and most of the patrol flights undertaken by his squadron. He had shown coolness and courage of a high order, and had personally destroyed six enemy aircraft.
