The floor of Mr. H. A. O'Gara's garage, corner of Napier and Hepburn Streets, last night fell into a hole twenty-five feet deep by twelve feet wide, and his Chevrolet and Ford cars, worth about £400, were at the bottom when he went out this morning to load up his Christmas orders. The cause of the trouble was the collapse of a fifty-year-old sewer which drained the gully into Freeman's Bay. City Council workmen this morning rigged up a temporary derrick with which they fished up the cars from their strange hiding place. The hole was almost as regular as if it had been dug on purpose.

IN MEMORIAM

O'GARA. —Loving memories of our dear brother Pilot-Officer Rupert Clark O'Gara, accidentally killed in aircraft, in Scotland, on April 2, 1943; aged 23 years.

He had a nature you could not help loving,

A heart that was purer than gold;

To those who knew and loved him.

His memory will never grow old.

He bade no one a last farewell,

He said good-bye to none;

The heavenly gates just opened wide.

And a gentle voice said Come.

Inserted by his loving sister Iris, brother-in-law Len. and nephews Trevor and Dennis.
