"I found your writeup about Edward Breeze fascinating.   The executor of his will was Edward Lutwyche Davies.  ELD is my great great-grandfather.   ELD gave the name “Breeze” to his son, Edward Breeze Davies who is my great-grandfather.     I can not figure out how my family is connected to Edward Breeze.  I have searched for descendants and siblings for him to try to find the connection.  I am coming to Knighton from the USA in June to visit the sites of my ancestors.   I would appreciate any help that you can give me.  Thank you."

"My Great Great Grandfather is Edward Ravenscroft. I have been researching my family for years and I would like to congratulate you for your excellent piece of work which has given some life to the names I've been researching associated with Knighton. I knew Edward's wife Mary had gone through some difficult times but you have highlighted two more tragic events for her with the violent death of her father and the drowning of her young son. After bringing up 10 children Mary and her children left Knighton and started a new life in south-east England. I have for years wanted to visit Knighton and look for Edward's grave but now I know it's there I'll definitely have to make that journey. Many Thanks"

"Many thanks Terry, for the tremendously informative website. You have a great style of writing accounts of the lives of everyday people of the past with attention to accurate detail. Their successes and failures, their happy events and tragedies set a really special benchmark in local history studies.

Knighton was a big part of my childhood world. You have been generous in your time expanding the information I had on my own family and their contemporaries since the 1800s and tied up lots of loose ends, which I very much appreciate.

Details in Parish records and inscriptions on gravestones supply only the numerical facts for the genealogists. They are the twigs of the family tree. Collating the biographical minutiae for this website is a detective story worthy of a page of its own.

How did you hear of the incidents that are so long ago, that even our grandparents had never mentioned them? They go to show that everyone has a story. Not many people are good at telling them though.

Many thanks for all your careful work."
