This one took a bit of sorting out. First of all there is no birth for a William Ephraim Tudor Goodwin.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission have this on him:-

"Son of William and Ellen Goodwin; husband of Jane Kerr Goodwin, of 24, High St., Knighton, Radnor. Born at Leominster."

Searching the censuses for Leominster, I found the family.

After his adoptive father's death Ephraim added his name to his own, so becoming William Ephraim Tudor GOODWIN.

The Brecon Radnor Express - Thursday, 1st March 1917

A gloom was cast over the district when it became known that Mr T. W. Goodwin (lately foreman for Mr. A. H. Wainwright) had died at Oswestry on Wednesday. He had been very popular in the town, and had only joined the colours about three weeks ago. He leaves a widow, two children and an aged mother, for whom widespread sympathy is felt. The remains were conveyed to Knighton on Monday under military escort and with military honours, and the funeral took place on Tuesday.
